FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers about appointments, fees, insurance, telehealth, and how care works.

Do you accept insurance?

This practice is cash-pay and does not bill insurance directly. A detailed superbill is provided after payment, which you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan.

Who can be seen, and where?

Care is provided to residents of Louisiana and California by secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth video. In-person visits are available in Zachary, Louisiana on an as-needed basis.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. New patients are currently welcome. The first step is an initial evaluation, which can be scheduled online.

How do telehealth visits work?

Visits take place over a private, HIPAA-compliant video connection. You'll need a quiet, private space and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. You can be seen from the comfort of home, anywhere in Louisiana or California.

What happens at the first visit?

The initial evaluation is a comprehensive conversation about your history, current concerns, and goals. Together we develop an individualized, whole-person plan, which may include medication, therapy, and lifestyle supports.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. Prescribing is rational and evidence-based, integrated with the broader plan. Please note that some controlled medications have additional requirements or limitations when care is provided via telehealth.

Do you offer therapy?

Yes — individual psychotherapy and, for the right couples, couples psychotherapy. Care can combine medication management and therapy, or focus on either, depending on your needs.

What are your fees?

Current fees for the initial evaluation, follow-up appointments, and psychotherapy are listed on the Fee Schedule. Payment is due at the time of service, and a superbill is provided for reimbursement.

How do I schedule?

You can schedule online using the appointment link, or contact the office by phone or email with any questions about getting started.

What if I'm in crisis or have an emergency?

This practice is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department.
